Founder's Story

Rana Mumtaz grew up in India exposed to beautiful colors, fabrics and intricate designs. Seduced by her mother’s exceptional bespoke hand embroidered clothes, Rana developed a sophisticated sense of fashion early on in her life. Moving to the U.S., Rana translated her eastern fashion sensibility into a unique way of dressing mixing traditional tailoring with feminine modern design, bold colors and patterns.

Rana has enjoyed a successful career in Information Technology, advising clients such as NYSE & Morgan Stanley, and has earned an MBA in finance from the Wharton School. She then joined BMO capital markets where she covered M&A and leverage finance transactions. Recently Rana worked at a mid-sized company reporting directly to the CEO, helping him with strategic planning including budget and investment analysis.

All along she always burned with a desire to marry her love for fashion and her background in technology and finance. With this, in the fall of 2008, Rana decided to launch FABLOGUE, a forum that makes every woman a fashion insider, aware of the up and coming labels before they hit the streets of NYC, Paris or London - all at an attainable price!

The influence of craft, the desire to work for oneself, the ability to run a small business from home—these trends have fueled the growth of small independent designer labels. Rana created FABLOGUE because she strongly felt that now more than ever there are growing number of emerging designers that create high quality products that are not necessarily well known or easily accessible to consumers. She wanted to bridge the gap between consumers and designers and make the process of dressing a fun and unique experience for women.
